Custom Field Filters

Use Jira custom fields to filter survey results by country, location, customer type, or other ticket details. Add filter shows supported fields available to the selected project.

If your custom field does not appear in Add filter, check its screen and context settings using the steps below.

  1. Open Jira settings → Work items → Fields.
  2. Search for your custom field, such as Country.
  3. Open its three-dot menu under Actions.

Choose Add field to screen. Select the View/Edit screen used by your project’s work type, then save the changes. In this example, it is IT: Jira Service Management: Request Fulfilment View/Edit Screen.

Screen names vary. To check which screen your project uses, open Space settings → Request management → Screens and expand the scheme for your work type.

Return to the field’s Actions menu and select Contexts and default values. Under Applicable contexts for scheme, choose Edit Configuration if needed.

Ensure the context includes your project and the work types you want to filter. A global context is also valid. For work types, Global (all work items) includes every work type; otherwise, select the relevant ones.

Save any changes, reload AdaptiveSurvey, and select your field under Add filter → Jira fields.

If the field still does not appear, check that:

  • Its type is supported and it is searchable in Jira.
  • Its context includes the selected project and work type.
  • It is included in the project’s field configuration and is not hidden. A global context alone does not guarantee availability.
  • You reloaded the browser page after changing the Jira settings.
